Thriving Thru Menopause

Endometriosis is a disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing pain and/or infertility. Endometriosis affects roughly 10% (190 million) of reproductive-age women and girls globally and is probably an underestimation

My guest this week is Ana Gonzalez Herrera, founder of Glow Botanics and Hormone University.

Ana dedicated 15 years of her life to the corporate world, leading and growing well-known beauty and wellness corporations worldwide.

In the meantime, she was silently battling Stage IV Endometriosis, a condition that affects 10% of women that is horrendously painful and difficult to deal with. She was in pain 50% of her time with extreme PMS for over a decade and underwent 5 surgeries, infertility, and surgical menopause. Severe side effects with hormonal treatments inspired her to start her entrepreneurial journey to fulfil her vision of rethinking the women’s wellness space.

Knowing that hormonal wellness is the result of a balanced approach to health and with the naturopathic principles in mind, she launched Glow Botanica, a company that provides a series of effective natural remedies to help achieve hormonal balance by targeting symptoms, not age.

From her personal experience wellness starts from knowledge. Ana also built and launched Hormone University, the first educational platform focused on hormonal health, aiming to raise awareness and empower women to take control over their hormonal health, to be prepared when they step into the doctor's office, and to get their questions answered.

While her businesses are still young, Ana has the ambition to become the beacon of hormonal well-being, giving women all the tools to be in control of their hormones and not to be controlled by them.

In this episode we talk about the following:

1. Why Ana's personal journey led her to create two companies dedicated to hormonal health & wellness?

2. Why advocating for ourselves is crucial to our well-being?

3. The importance of everyone learning about hormonal health

4. Natural options available to treat symptoms of menstruation and menopause

5. Strategies to help us feel better if we are struggling with our hormones
